We launched our website and social media on June 1st, 2020 and we incorporated on July 20th, 2020. While the world protested in the streets we protested with our dollars. Black Owned Maine instantly gave people a way to support Black people. No questions asked.

We are always looking for businesses, nonprofits, and professionals to add to our directory. Please submit your information and we will be in touch.

We are typically unable to accommodate immediate requests for interviews. While we wish BOM was our full time gig, unfortunately it is not. We are a team of two, who both work full time, and are both single parents. Scheduling interviews will often take some time and may need to be held at odd times of day. We have not gained full tax-exemption yet. We have joined together with Creative Portland in fiscal sponsorship. Please donate through their online platform and your donation will be tax deductible.
